I opened The HomeBuyer’s Advocate because buyers need a company who will represent their best interests. Sure, you know all of the big real estate companies around. But how many of them are established to protect the rights of the buyer and not the seller? How many of them are there for the consumer (you)? There are many good real estate companies but the #1 goal of most of them is to “sell houses;” and maybe even sell you one. At The HomeBuyer’s Advocate it isn’t our job to “sell” you
anything because we work on your side as the consumer. We don’t “sell houses,” we represent buyers who buy them: We ADVOCATE for our buyer-clients.. It may seem like a small difference but there is a world of difference between an agent who is trying to "sell you a home" and one that is actually trying to help you buy one. We’re on YOUR side. With one hundred years of experience between us we have helped hundreds of home buyers in Columbus and the surrounding areas. Meet the Team
Jim Deskins Jim is the Broker at The HomeBuyer's Advocate and the wizard behind the curtain. Jim got his real estate license in 1996 and became a broker in 2006. He has always and only represented buyers. He is a member of the Professional Standards Committee at the Columbus Realtors and has served on several committees, including the Professional Standards Committe, where he has previous served as chairperson. He is also an Ombudsman for the Columbus Realtors as well. His previous background was in law enforcement and juvenile work. His certifications include Exclusive Buyer's Agent (EBA), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP), Certified Real Estate Mentor (CRM), and Certified Military Relocation Professional (MRP). Jim has a B.A. from The Ohio State University and resides in Galena with his wife and beloved fur baby, Cali. He has two grown children who reside in Columbus.

Tammy Boring Tammy has been licensed as a real estate agent and has been representing buyers since 1997. Her entire career has been dedicated helping only buyers as an Exclusive Buyer’s Agent. Her background includes title research, appraisal, appraisal review, relocation and property management. She is also very adept at helping her buyer-clients buy and build new homes, she is somewhat of an "expert" when it comes to working with new-home builders. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Music from Ohio Christian University. Tammy, her husband Bob and their daughter Abigail reside in Columbus/Westerville.
Sarah McCabe Sarah has been a licensed real estate agent since 2001. Prior to become a Realtor Sarah spent time working for the State of Ohio. She enjoys helping buyers through the home-buying process, which is why she chose to be an Exclusive Buyer’s Agent. She is most familiar with the real estate market in Franklin and Delaware Counties. Sarah resides in Powell.
Linzee Steinmetz Linzee has been working in real estate since 2003 when she started working as a property manager. She has been an avid investor since 2008 and has purchased multiple rental properties, creating a large investment portfolio. She is well-versed in CAP rates and the profitability of investing in real estate. Not only is she versed in purchasing rental properties but she also enjoys helping buyers find a home that they can call their own. She enjoys running, knitting and creating art with her (3) children. She and her family reside in Galena.
Drew McDaniel Drew has a degree from The Ohio State University and before going into real estate he was a banker for a large, national Bank. While he was working with home loans, both refinance and line of credit loans, he developed an interest in working as a real estate professional. Because of his extensive experience working in the banking field he is aptly qualified to navigate the lending process quickly and painlessly. He is a Westerville Central graduate and has lived his entire life in the Greater Columbus Area and is an avid Cleveland Browns fan and a big Columbus Crew supporter. He is well-traveled and intends to continue to fill up stamps in his passport in conjunction with his real estate career.
